Star Trek Into Darnkess villain revealed

There has been much speculation about the villain to be in Star Trek Into Darkness. All we have known so far is that the villain is played by Benedict Cumberbatch. We now have confirmation via an image released by Paramount Pictures that Cumberbatch's character is named John Harrison.

I don't know too much about the whole Star Trek universe so the name honestly doesn't ring a bell for me. However, I heard quite a few people, including my boyfriend, tell me that some of the images from the trailer we got last week have a strong tie-in or foreshadow to Wrath of Khan. I have no idea what the hell is in store for this movie but I am excited.
