Riddick is back

I personally don't want another Chronicles of Riddick movie, because they have both sucked, but whatever. Seeing shitty movies continued just for the hell of it isn't something we aren't getting used to.

Wouldn't you agree?

There is something unsettling about a 21-year old man in a Justin Bieber shirt.

Why is this happening...

Two depressing things today...

1. Why will the Dresden Dolls and Amanda Palmer tour everywhere but the United States? I mean fucking hell. And whenever they do play shows here they're almost always in Boston or NYC only. There are fans in other parts of the country. *yells*

2. I went to the mall today with my mom to pick out a Christmas present. Yes, she has me pick one and then she saves it for Christmas. Anyway I have a lot of Nightmare Before Christmas stuff and I collect the big snow globes. There was a snow globe on the Disney website in September and my mom waited hoping it might go on sale or that it would be in our local Disney Store. We go today and not only are there no snow globes at all but there were only 5 Nightmare items in the whole place. Only 5. The past 6-7 years, if not longer, there has been a whole section including snow globes, clothes, statues, figurines, etc.. This year there is nothing. I even went in Spencer's and Hot Topic and they didn't even have shit this year. What the fuck? Are they taking everything away for the next two years so they can make a massive comeback for the 20 year anniversary? So unfair. I bet they have it in that Nightmare themed store in Disneyland.

Batman is retiring

By Batman I mean Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale.

Bale finally confirmed that The Dark Knight Rises will be his last film as the Caped Crusader and Nolan has been saying it will be his last Batman film.

Now with that said I am laughing at the people who think that means Batman is forever done. How many Batman themed movies and/or TV shows do we have already? Batman isn't going anywhere. It's Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale who is leaving. They will eventually get another director to make more movies and will cast yet another Bruce Wayne. I'm not worried. Well, actually I might be a little worried. I don't think anyone will ever be able to top what Nolan has done with the character.

Sugarland being sued over stage collapse in Indiana

Is this even a legitimate case to sue the band? Bands do have some say when it comes to their shows but a majority of the time it's the concert promoters and managers that determine stuff. LiveNation pushed to have the show continue despite the weather so as far as I'm concerned these people should be filing the lawsuit primarily against LiveNation and not include the band. I don't fault the band for what happened.
If I remember correctly the stage collapsed at a Cheap Trick concert this year, too. People didn't go out and sue the band because the stage collapsed.

I have been to concerts in bad weather before and it says on your ticket the show will happen rain or shine and it also has a liability statement from the concert promoter on the ticket. When I saw Korn back in 2003 it was raining with lightning all day and night and they still held the show. It depends on what you feel safe with, imo. If it's raining or looks like a tornado outside and you don't feel safe then leave. I would rather be out $30 and miss a show than be unsafe and potentially die but hey... to each their own.

Diablo Cody linked to The Evil Dead reboot.

I don't know what to say.

Juno was excellent, Jennifer's Body was a fail, and United States of Tara was alright but come on... wasn't Jennifer's Body enough proof that she should stay away from the horror genre? I am suddenly more afraid for this reboot that shouldn't even be happening. Given Diablo Cody's style I won't at all be surprised to hear this, "SILENCIO! I'M GONNA SWALLOW YOUR SOUL SO SHUT YOUR GOB AND STOP GOING BANANAS!"

Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1

Yes I went to go see it. With that said here is the film in chronological order (spoilers beware):

Wedding invites go out to friends and family.
Jacob acts like a pussy and runs away crying after receiving said invitation.
Bella's mother is happy she is getting married while her dad is protective.
Edward tries to talk Bella out of marrying him by telling her stories of him killing people.
Bella still wants to marry Edward saying she accepts who he is.
Bella's friends think she is pregnant because "who gets married at 18?!"
Bella starts crying, which was weird to see, while taking forever to walk down toward the altar in a gorgeous wedding dress.
Bella and Edward wed in an elaborate ceremony planned by Alice.
The wedding kiss is basically a minute long make out session in front of friends and family.
The reception is full of cheesy speeches including Bella's mom singing a lullaby to her.
Jacob shows up looking scruffy and is still begging Bella to change her mind.
Bella tells Jacob she plans on having sex on her honeymoon as a human and Jacob flips out.
Jacob is escorted from the reception by his fellow wolves.
Edward and Bella fly to Brazil and go to their secluded island.
Edward wants to go skinny dipping in the ocean.
Bella takes a minute to prepare herself for her first time (only way to say it).
Bella joins Edward naked in the ocean.
They move inside where the famous bed breaking scene happens.
Bella wakes up and you see flashes of their wild sexual encounter as she remembers them.
Edward is sorry for hurting his wife after seeing bruises on her.
Bella wants to have more sex but Edward won't because he hurt her.
Bella walks around in lingerie trying to tempt him and eventually succeeds.
The couple scare their housekeepers away after they see the condition of the bedroom.
Jacob has a vision of Bella being a vampire while she is on her honeymoon and bitches about it.
Jacob wonders what the excuse for Bella's death will be (car crash, trip and fall, etc.).
Bella begins eating weird combos of food (chicken and peanut butter, wtf)
Bella pukes and tries to convince Edward she ate bad chicken.
Bella realizes her period is late and immediately receives a call from Alice.
Edward stands in an awkward silence as Bella talks to Carlisle.
The couple secretly returns to Forks after telling her family they extended their honeymoon.
Jacob comes to see a very pregnant and sick Bella after only a month.
Edward hates his child and is pissed Bella is pregnant.
Jacob is conflicted between the Cullens, his loyalty to Bella, and loyalty to his tribe.
Rosalie is protecting Bella and the baby from Jacob.
Bella is getting weaker and sicker with each minute and looks like a meth addict.
Edward is still being an asshole about Bella's pregnancy.
Jacob overpowers Sam and leaves his pack.
Seth and Leah leave Sam's pack to join Jacob in protecting Bella.
Jacob tries to convince them to leave him alone but fails.
Carlisle tells Bella giving birth to her child will kill her.
Edward yells at Bella claiming she is purposely leaving him by keeping the baby.
Edward reads Jacob's mind and they begin feeding Bella human blood to survive the pregnancy.
Edward reads the baby's mind and instantly falls in love with his child and apologizes to Bella.
The wolves outsmart Sam and the pack so Carlisle, Emmett, and Esme can hunt.
Bella goes into labor by bending backwards looking like she is in an exorcism movie.
Rosalie tries to cut open Bella's stomach but can't.
Edward rips her womb open with his teeth to deliver the baby.
Rosalie takes the baby as Edward injects Bella's dead body with vampire venom.
Jacob runs away crying again after thinking Bella is dead.
Edward pumps Bella's chest trying to revive her and bites her several times but it's not working.
Edward joins Jasper and Alice outside to fight off Sam's pack who have come to kill the baby.
Carlisle, Emmett, and Esme join the fight after successfully hunting.
Jacob sees the baby's eyes, sees his future with her, and imprints on her.
Edward reads Jacob's mind, sees he has imprinted, and uses this to fight off Sam's pack.
Bella begins magically healing via cheesy looking CGI tricks.
The Cullens and Jacob surround her as she is healing.
Bella's eyes open and they are vampire red.

The end.

Yeah, that's it. I was drunk during this movie so I am surprised I remember this much detail but whatever. I will say the honeymoon spoilers I had read prior to seeing it for myself were all wrong. Don't believe people when they are saying the sexual scenes are only implied or that it goes by really quick. It is true you don't necessarily see a whole lot in terms of nudity but you see thrusting, there is moaning, awkward music, straddling, etc.. You see enough. Nothing I can't handle just not when it comes to Twilight. Gross.
Bella's wedding dress was gorgeous. Wasn't quite what you expect and it was fairly plain but it was absolutely beautiful. Very flattering for Kristen Stewart.
The thing I didn't understand was why everyone looked so damn different in this movie compared to the first three. Even the vampires looked different. Kristen Stewart looked pretty, which was odd, Robert Pattinson wasn't as ugly, Jacob looked more adult, etc.. I was like, what the fuck is going on? Not to mention, what happened to vampires sparkling in the sun? Edward never sparkled on the honeymoon and they were on a sunny island ffs. If you are going to have ridiculous sparkling vampires be consistent.
Going along with everyone looking different, the makeup department sure did a good job. Kristen Stewart looked like a meth head for sure which was the point. I was like damn son.

Overall it was not good but I will admit it was the best of the 4 released so far. I am sad there is another movie still coming but I think if it follows the path of this one it will be tolerable. Changing directors was the best thing they could have done. Seriously.

Arrested Development to air in 2013... exclusively on Netflix

You read that right. I guess everyone who canceled and/or refused to ever succumb to Netflix are going to have to if they want to watch the return of one of the best shows ever.

Netflix announced today that they will exclusively stream new episodes of the returning show. No word on exactly how many episodes are coming our way but I think this is a smart move from Netflix. After the price hike and the embarrassing and failed Qwikster experiment this should gain them some subscribers when the time comes even if it's only for a short time. I guess this is the reward for not canceling my subscription after the price hike. I can't wait for this show to come back.

Someone Like You

I am lagging a little behind with this song but I honestly think it is one of the best ones I have ever heard. Adele is amazing.

I hope her vocal chord surgery was a complete success. Call me selfish but I want to keep listening to that voice for a long time.

Snow White vs. Snow White

I have now seen teasers for both Snow White revamps, Snow White and the Huntsman and Mirror Mirror. Despite how much I can't stand Kristen Stewart I have to say that based on what I have seen so far Snow White and the Huntsman takes the cake. Charlize Theron is playing the classic evil queen and it has a better look to it in general. Not to mention that they actually make Kristen Stewart look pretty. Mirror Mirror is obviously aimed at a younger audience because Julia Roberts is nowhere near the evil the queen is (at least not in the preview) and it is more playful. I think Lily Collins is a better choice for Snow White over Kristen Stewart (obviously) but that's the name of the game. Each movie will have their points but I still just don't see why anyone would even want to see Mirror Mirror. Not to mention the title is stupid.

I wouldn't necessarily say I am excited for either of them but if I had to choose I would go for Snow White and the Huntsman. It looks so much better.

Hollywood finally does something right

Kudos to Joss Whedon and the team making The Avengers. While filming a scene with Captain America they used real US Army soldiers out of Ft. Meade as the military support.

I personally think this is awesome. I can't wait to see the final result.

More photos of The Dark Knight Rises surface

I don't know exactly how new these are simply because I saw pictures and video of the Gotham Police riot a couple months ago, but still... Exciting :D

The preview for next week's The Walking Dead caused me to yell. I literally screamed.

It shows the big missing man Merle. Merle!!!

I bet you anything he has Sophia. You just wait.

I haven't seen a trailer for this one in theaters just yet but I have seen it about a dozen times online. It looks intriguing, tbh. I am very curious.

Chronicle is in theaters February 3, 2012.

The Devil Inside

I saw a trailer for this before Paranormal Activity 3 and it looks pretty intense. However, it looks just like the past couple of exorcism movies we have had. People bending over backwards, yelling in multiple voices, laughing, etc.. Tickle me not surprised there is yet another one.

The Devil Inside comes out in theaters on January 6, 2012.

Paranormal Activity 3 [spoilers beware]

So yeah... I finally went to see it. Boredom got the best of me.

High points:
The "ghost" in the kitchen behind the babysitter.
Katie being stopped by Toby in the middle of the room and getting picked up by her hair.
All the kitchen items falling from the ceiling.

Low points:
Everything else.

Honestly guys, these are not good movies. Suspenseful isn't even a valid description. I was bored through the whole thing just like I was during the first two. When I listed three high points that is seriously it. That whole advertising line of "the last 15 minutes will mess you up for life" is bullshit. All that happens is the boyfriend walks around the house with the camera, sees the grandma's reflection twice, opens a closet door to see a bunch of creepy old people in black clothes, sees the mother levitating, finds Kristie, then sees Katie kneeling by the dead mother. When he moves toward Katie she turns around with the same demon face she had in the first movie after killing Micah. He falls backwards and is approached by the grandmother and then is killed by the invisible demon force after it bends him backwards and kills him. Then grandma walks upstairs with Katie and Kristie and the movie is over. So scary and it messed me up for life. /sarcasm

I don't know if it's just me but if my child had an imaginary friend that was that intense where she flat out describes how she'll be in trouble if she tells is sketchy and not something to fool around with. Fuck taping at night. Take your child to a therapist.  And a demon named Toby? For fuck's sake lol. All I could think of was Roots.
And not to mention, what happened with all of the clips in the previews of the fire? That is a pretty important event in these movies and to just leave it out is really lame. All of the rest of the clips from the trailers and commercials aren't in the movie either. That didn't so much bother me because you're going in fresh but the house fire being left out was a huge let down.

It wasn't scary at all and I will never understand how or why these movies are scaring people so much. And to hear that a fourth one is apparently already in the works makes me sad.
