Charlie Hunnam has reportedly snatched the role of King Arthur in Guy Ritchie's upcoming version of the medieval tale. In addition to Hunnam's apparent casting, word has it that Elizabeth Olsen is the frontrunner for the female lead and Idris Elba has already been cast as a Merlin-like mentor for Arthur.
Ritchie originally developed King Arthur back in 2010 but the project was abandoned after a rival film gained more attention. It was also originally adapted as a series of six films but it doesn't seem like that is still possible.
