Breaking Dawn Part 2 earns seven Razzie statues

The Razzies basically awards actors and movies for the worst performances of the year, in case you weren't aware.

This year The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 walked away with seven total taking the categories for Worst Ensemble, Worst Director (Bill Condon), Worst Actress (Kristen Stewart), Worst Supporting Actor (Taylor Lautner), Worst Picture, Worst Screen Couple (Taylor Lautner and Mackenzie Foy), and Worst Rip-off or Sequel. Twilight had 11 total nominations making the record of being nominated more times than there are categories. Ouch haha.
Other winners for the Razzies included Rihanna for Worst Supporting Actress for her debut in Battleship, Adam Sandler for Worst Actor for That's My Boy, and That's My Boy also edged Breaking Dawn Part 2 (by one vote) for Worst Screenplay.

I personally find the Razzies hilarious and the results for this year is probably the best thing I saw all day. Thanks for another great year, guys!

[UPDATED] The Worst Films of 2012

Ahh, ladies and gentlemen.

It is that time of the year once again where we reflect on the best and worst films of the year. I will do a separate post on the best films of 2012, but I figured why not start off with the bad things that happen. When you do that things only go uphill. There is no particular order to these except for the first and I explain that. So let's get this party started!


Snow White and the Huntsman

I put this one at the very top of the list because I don't think it was absolutely terrible. Was it great? Nowhere close, but it wasn't completely awful. It had more low points than high points and had some serious miscasting as far as Snow White went, but it was salvaged enough with Charlize Theron and pretty bomb special effects to not be a total loss.

All I really have to say is... it's finally over.

Bachelorette

Now, let me say that I did enjoy Bachelorette overall but that was initially. After some reflection I came to realize that the movie was, in general, a hot mess. They tried too hard to re-create magic started with Bridesmaids and it failed. Rebel Wilson was the best part of the whole movie and she was hardly in it.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Talk about disappointment. I went into this movie with such high expectations and I expected to love the hell out of it because I love the book. However, it was probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The 3D was bad, the story was bad, and the adaptation was even worse. I think this was probably the biggest disappointment for me this year.

Bel Ami

I think Bel Ami was what people were counting on to show Robert Pattinson as a serious actor but it was yet another failure. The dialogue was weak, his character was weaker, and it was basically just a bunch of people having sex to gain position in society. Not interesting and no substance and I could have gone my whole life without seeing Pattinson naked.

Magic Mike

I am probably one of the only females on this planet that hated Magic Mike. It was just a terrible film. The script was as bad, if not worse, than a Twilight movie and it was relying on male strippers to bring females to the theater. That was it. Channing Tatum can't act and neither can Alex Pettyfer.

Mirror Mirror

By far the worst of the Snow White films we had this year. I feel like they tried to cater it more toward children and stumbled over a lot of rocks along the way. It wasn't funny, Julia Roberts tried too hard, and Armie Hammer just didn't strike me as a charming prince. It just didn't do it for me and I'm glad I didn't waste the money to see it in theaters.

The Woman in Black

Yet another example of franchise actors trying to prove they can do more than their character. Daniel Radcliffe will always be Harry Potter to me. He should stick to the stage because he has been quite successful there. Apart from that I found the movie predictable and boring. I even fast forwarded through a couple parts.

Chronicle 

Yet another disappointment for me. Chronicle was a disaster. There were terrible plot holes, it moved too quickly, the ending was predictable and abrupt, and how the kids even got their powers was never fully explained. It was just a bunch of stuff that happened and was caught on film.

The Devil Inside

Another one that I don't really have anything to say. I watched it and when it was over I wished that I hadn't.


Honorable (or dishonorable) mentions: Sparkle, What to Expect When You're Expecting, Chernobyl Diaries, Silent House, [REC] 3: Genesis, The Pact, Lovely Molly, Excision, and The Amazing Spider-Man.


Now keep in mind that these are just the movies that I personally saw this year. I heard about other movies that were apparently terrible and usually when I hear that much negative feedback I try to avoid them. Examples being Battleship, Lockout, Joyful Noise, etc..

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 - Review *spoilers*

In Breaking Dawn Part 2, the Cullens and newborn vampire Bella must face the Volturi after a claim is made that Bella and Edward's daughter is an immortal child. A claim that, in the vampire world, is a very high offense punishable by death.


Let me start off by stating I am not a Twilight fan. I have seen all the movies and have read the books but I have never been a fan. I have always thought the story was bland, poorly written, and even more poorly acted. However, I decided to conclude my Twilight experience like many others and I went to see Breaking Dawn Part 2.
In my opinion, it is just as poorly acted and poorly written as the previous films but I will give credit for the fact that it is incredibly entertaining. BD Part 2 is by far the most enjoyable and entertaining of all 5 Twilight films. Yes it strayed from the book (a lot) and had awful pacing but it had humor and kept you pretty into what was going on.

You begin the film right where Breaking Dawn Part 1 left off. By "right where" I mean just that. The first part ends with Bella's transformation into a vampire and the second part begins with her red eyes opening and her first experiences as a vampire; seeing Edward for the first time as an immortal and her first hunt. In the book Bella's first hunting experience was rather dragged out and a lot more happened. In the movie it was very quick and right to the point. It's like right as she sees Edward he is like, you're thirsty let's go hunt. Right away they are running through the woods and she encounters a deer, gets distracted by a rock climber, and then jumps off a cliff and devours a mountain lion. It adds to my argument of extremely poor pacing in this film because it happened with almost no explanation and no lead in or out of the scene. It just kind of happens.
Along with that the rest of the events of the film, some in the book and some aren't, do the same thing. They just appear out of nowhere and happen and then they move onto the next event. It's like they present us with information and expect you to understand what is going on. I mean, I read the books and there were a couple moments that had me a little lost.

I don't want to spoil anything since the end of the film does have things that DID NOT happen in the book, so if you haven't seen the movie yet I would advise you to not click the jump and read ahead. I would wait until you see the movie. Just my recommendation.

Twilight Saga marathon hits on November 15th

It appears that what theaters have done for previous movie runs, like The Dark Knight Trilogy screenings, will also be done for The Twilight Saga. It was announced that starting November 15th fans will have the opportunity to see all 4 existing Twilight movies in theaters before the premiere of the 5th movie, Breaking Dawn Part 2. The basic breakdown is Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn Part 1 will be screened on the 15th and with your marathon ticket you will be able to see Breaking Dawn Part 2 at 10pm local time, two hours before the regular midnight screenings. So basically if you go to the marathon you will be exiting the theater around the time the midnight screenings are just starting.

I will not be doing this but I am sure plenty of Twilight people will be.

Twilight - Breaking Dawn Part 2 VMA Trailer premieres

The newest trailer for The Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiered last night at the MTV Video Music Awards. The show itself was meh, despite Kevin Hart being hilarious, and so was this trailer. All I really had to say after watching it was at least they added a fight at the end. The ending of the book pissed me off because nothing happens. The Volturi basically show themselves to be a bunch of pussies.

Breaking Dawn Part 2 full teaser released

After the teaser's teaser yesterday for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, we have the full teaser trailer. It also features the footage they teased people with a couple months ago. If you are following this you will recognize the footage we have already seen.

I will admit the final shot of Bella running looks pretty cool, but seeing that I read the book and know what happens (which is basically nothing) I am not all that excited. I thought the trailer for Eclipse looked somewhat promising and that turned out to be the worst movie out of all the ones we have gotten so far. We will just have to wait and see for this one. I will definitely need a drink like I did when I saw Breaking Dawn Part 1. 

10-second teaser for Breaking Dawn Part 2

I thought in the book Bella's eyes stayed red the whole time because of how new she was? Fucking movies and their inconsistency.

Anyway, the 10-second teaser for the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 teaser (boy, that is redundant) has been released this morning. We will get the full teaser tomorrow morning. As you may know I am not a Twilight fan but I have read the books and seen all the movies up to this point. I find them entertaining and amusing, to say the least. I also love pointing out the continuity errors between the films and the books such as Bella's golden eyes in the above screenshot. The book explains why Bella's eyes stay red despite not drinking human blood, but whatever. They obviously didn't want to take the 15 seconds to explain it.

Lionsgate planning to remake Twilight

Rumored as of right now but knowing Lionsgate this is most likely true. According to Bloody-Disgusting, which you can honestly take or leave, Lionsgate is planning to either continue the Twilight saga beyond Breaking Dawn or remake it altogether.

I want to reiterate... this is just a rumor as of right now. There is no confirmation on this and no discussion outside of websites like this and people. With that said, this conversation in itself doesn't surprise me at all. Lionsgate already has said that they hope to continue Twilight after Breaking Dawn Part 2 because it is such a huge money maker. I said it then and I am still saying it now, I hope Stephenie Meyer has a way to stop this from happening. I hope their is some kind of clause or whatever that gives her the ultimate decision of what to do with these characters. I cannot handle more of this Twilight shit. I have been looking forward to 2012 since New Moon came out because I knew it would finally be over.

However, if this is going to happen there is only one way I would accept it... if they made it into a TV show. TV shows are so easy to avoid but they have the incredible potential to be popular and make a very decent amount of money. Look at the fanbase for shows like True Blood, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, The Vampire Diaries, Big Bang Theory, etc.. TV Shows can have a huge impact and enough people know about Twilight so it wouldn't necessarily curse it to fading out completely and it would give fans consistency. They also would have more room to do things correctly in terms of the books and they would have more time to expand on certain things that the movies haven't allowed. Seeing that this franchise has become so popular and is worth so much money I can't think of a single network that would pass on the opportunity.


So yeah. This isn't a surprise and I do agree with Bloody-Disgusting in saying that this will happen but damn it... I don't want it to. I fucking hate Lionsgate.

 
[UPDATE] Apparently Summit Entertainment did some damage control with Deadline and claimed the rumors of the reboot are untrue.

"We are not remaking Twilight. We will happily support Stephenie Meyer if she decides to proceed in any way. But this will be the last one unless that should change."

I think this is just what I said above. This is damage control. I have no doubt they have plans set in motion so they can act quickly if Meyer does give approval or dishes out some new material. They would be stupid not to say this.

Speaking of Robert Pattinson, three character posters for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 have been released. They are probably the best Twilight posters to date.

Breaking Dawn Pt. 2 teaser poster surfaces

I personally don't give a fuck about Twilight but I know a lot of other people do. For those who do care, the first teaser poster for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 has surfaced and it looks like this...

 

The poster was displayed at this year's CinemaCon in Las Vegas and it looks almost identical to the teaser poster for Breaking Dawn Part 1. In other words, it looks like yet another bad Photoshop project. The main difference is the one for BD1 was like a sunset.

The Hunger Games wins the box office again

24 days later it is still #1 in the US.

To go with this news, The Hunger Games has now passed $500 million worldwide and approximately $375 million domestically and $200 million overseas. I can only imagine what Catching Fire is going to rake in at the box office... and I bet you anything Breaking Dawn Part 2 won't make shit in comparison come November.

Breaking Dawn Part 2 teaser before The Hunger Games

I, unfortunately, didn't see a midnight screening of The Hunger Games. I have to wait until Saturday night to see it because of work, but I have already seen the "big" teaser for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. Why did I search to find a rip of it online instead of waiting? Curiosity and I needed a laugh.

I won't link the clip I saw because I have no doubt it will get taken down before too long and I don't feel like continuously searching to find another one to replace it. If you don't plan on seeing The Hunger Games this weekend, and don't want to wait until Monday when it premieres online, just go to the Breaking Dawn Part 2 forum on IMDB and fish through the links all those people keep posting. That's how I found one that was still active, tbh.

To spoil the teaser...

Basically it starts with Bella's typical voice over saying something like "after 18 years I finally know I can shine." She holds her hand up in the air and you see what the world looks like to her as a vampire now. You see her running through the woods all fast, you see Jacob saying he didn't expect her to seem so normal, and Edward holds her and is like, "we're the same temperature now." You see Bella's red, vampire eyes and the end of it shows a deer walking through the woods and she pops out from behind a tree. Basically if you read the book you understand what is going on with the deer. If you didn't, Edward is teaching her how to hunt.
That's it, guys. When they said it was just going to be a teaser they weren't kidding. The only comment I really have and I said it after I saw Breaking Dawn Part 1 is that Bill Condon must not have liked the fact that Stephenie Meyer's vampires sparkled because they do not in his Twilight movies. In BD1 they were on a tropical island with Edward in swim suits, tank tops, and shorts and he never sparkled in the sun. In this teaser, Bella is holding her hand up in the sun and Edward's skin is exposed and they don't sparkle. I remember watching New Moon and thinking it was ridiculous how much Edward sparkled. If he walked past a window that had light coming in he looked like a fucking crystal statue. Maybe it's just because I haven't seen a high quality version of it yet, but the inconsistency is annoying.

Breaking Dawn 2 trailer to premiere before The Hunger Games

I know this is a little late but my computer is still acting up. For some reason I can't open any website affiliated with Google. With that said, here are a couple things...


I read the other day that the first trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 will premiere before The Hunger Games on March 23rd. Whether it is just a short teaser or a full trailer was not specified. All we know is that it will be put on every print made of The Hunger Games. None of that screening only with certain theater chains or anything like that. If you see The Hunger Games on opening weekend, which I plan to, you will see the trailer.
All I really have to say about this is that this is coming really early for me. I don't remember exactly when we got the first trailer for BD Part 1 but I feel like it wasn't in March. The only reason this is happening is because The Hunger Games is a Lionsgate release and Lionsgate just bought Summit Entertainment, the holder of all the previous Twilight films. Lionsgate is trying to capitalize on the Twilight fanbase knowing that the trailer premiere will bring Twihards that probably wouldn't have gone to see The Hunger Games to begin with. I feel like there really isn't another big Lionsgate release in 2012 so in a way I'm not surprised. Ticket sales are ticket sales.
Personally, I was hoping for a second trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman before The Hunger Games. I figured the first trailer for BD Part 2 would be before Snow White in June. Oh well.

Lionsgate buys Summit Entertainment, wants to continue the Twilight Saga

What did we ever do to deserve this? Lionsgate used to be credible, ffs.

Basically, Lionsgate is buying out Summit Entertainment thus inheriting all Summit's projects including the biggest of them all... The Twilight Saga. Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer says he wants to continue Twilight past Breaking Dawn Part 2 in either film or television. To quote Mr. Feltheimer:

"It’s hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700 million-plus doesn’t have ongoing value. It’s an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration. So the simple answer is ‘Boy I hope so.’"

As the article mentions, Lionsgate squeezed and will potentially still squeeze the life out of the Saw franchise. We got seven films, got promised a conclusion, got a shitty conclusion, and now they want an 8th film that will no doubt be even shittier than the 7th.
Now... this can't happen without Stephenie Meyer's consent, yes? She would have to approve the rights to use the storyline to create more movies and/or a TV show. Lionsgate can't just absorb the existing films and think they can do whatever they want with the story. Or can they?

I never thought I would say this and really mean it, but I am really starting to hate Lionsgate. They are nothing but a bunch of greedy fucks.
