Dave Bautista to star in Guardians of the Galaxy

Dave Bautista (The Man with the Iron Fists) has reportedly secured the role of Drax the Destroyer for Guardians of the Galaxy. Previous contenders for the role included Jason Momoa (Conan the Barbarian), Isaiah Mustafa (the guy in the Old Spice commercials), and Brian Patrick Wade (Generation Kill).

Dave "The Animal" Bautista is a former pro-wrestler who was in the WWF (currently the WWE) and currently holds Tag Team championships and World Heavyweight championships have won his first at Wrestlemania 21. Bautista is also set to star opposite Vin Diesel in Riddick later this year.

Arthur Douglas, a human whose family was killed by Thanos, has his spirit taken by Kronos and placed into a new body creating Drax the Destroyer. Drax's powers include enhanced strength and resilience as well as the ability to project energy blasts from his hands. He was often pit against Thanos, obviously, and was also a member of the Infinity Watch.
Aside from that, Drax's daughter was adopted by Thanos' father and raised on Titan. She eventually became Moondragon, the telepathic martial artist and geneticist.
