The Wolverine director James Mangold went to Twitter to confirm that the sequel, still starring Hugh Jackman, will begin filming sometime in 2016. The only thing we really know about this project so far is that it's been in development at Fox pretty much since The Wolverine hit theaters in 2013 and it's set for a 2017 release.
Hugh Jackman has been Wolverine seven times since making his debut as the character in 2000. He previously stated that he wanted to wrap up his tenure as the character after this new Wolverine film, but he now says that he wants to play the character as long as X-Men movies are being made.
I'm pretty sure Jackman is on board to play Wolverine in X-Men: Apocalypse but I'm not positive. We're getting Apocalypse on May 23, 2016 while the release for the third Wolverine movie is set for March 3, 2017.

Hugh Jackman still wants Wolverine in The Avengers
I am pretty sure I talked about this before, but it has come up once again.
Hugh Jackman has previously expressed his interest in joining the expanded Marvel Cinematic Universe by bringing his X-Men character to The Avengers. If I recall correctly, he was bashing the studios for their rights protection and said they could easily work out a deal so the characters could cross studio lines.
Well, Jackman is at is again. In recent interviews for X-Men: Days of Future Past he expressed his interest and desire in Wolverine joining The Avengers once again. He stated:
Another thing he hopes for? A battle between Wolverine and the Hulk.
Last time this happened it seemed that Jackman's suggestions fell on deaf ears, but if he keeps badgering the studios you never know what will happen. Hell, he has enough money that maybe he will offer to pay some of the royalties if he wants it this bad.
Personally, I would love to see a full Marvel crossover film that would include The Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four but I am doubting that will ever happen. They have a hard enough time agreeing on anything. We can't even get a Spider-Man cameo for The Avengers.
So what about you guys? Do you want Wolverine to appear in The Avengers?

"I would love to see him as part of The Avengers because there’s a great dysfunction among that team, and I think Wolverine would fit right into that. He’d like that.”

“There’s no doubt he’d get in a fight with Hulk at some point. Those two bad, rage-filled characters are going to square off at some point. It would be quite fun. I don’t know how much fun to shoot it would be, because I’m sure I’d be on the worst end of it, but hey, he can heal.”

Levi Miller to play Peter Pan
The search for Peter Pan has ended with newcomer Levi Miller.
When I say newcomer I mean it. Miller was a young version of a main character in Terra Nova and starred in two short films. Other than that there really isn't anything else on his resume.
Miller joins Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, and Rooney Mara in Joe Wright's Pan. It is set in the wake of WWII and follows a young orphan as he is kidnapped by pirates and brought to Neverland. The orphan learns his destiny to defeat Blackbeard.
We will see Pan in theaters on July 17, 2015.

Hugh Jackman joins Peter Pan reboot
Just yesterday we learned Garrett Hedlund had been cast as Captain Hook in Joe Wright's Pan. We now have confirmation of rumors circulating around Hugh Jackman. The X-Men veteran has indeed been cast as Blackbeard. The role was originally offered to Javier Bardem but he passed on the role, so the studio approached Jackman.
Pan is set for release on July 17, 2015.

Another Wolverine film in the works
Well, potentially in the works.
Deadline is reporting that James Mangold and Hugh Jackman are planning a spin-off to The Wolverine and that Mangold is already in talks with 20th Century Fox to return. The Wolverine used the character's most popular solo arc, which would be him in Japan, so there is no telling which arc could be next on the list. There is 39-years worth of Wolverine stories so who knows what could be next. It is also possible that a new story could be created. The other question is, would this new Wolverine movie be centered around and/or after X-Men: Days of Future Past?
Moving forward shouldn't be difficult for 20th Century Fox seeing as The Wolverine brought in $413 million in the box office this summer. Not to mention the fact that Wolverine seems to be the backbone of every X-Men movie to date, minus First Class. Hugh Jackman seems to be content with his typecasting as well and has stated he has no plans to retire from the character at the current moment.
So, with X-Men: Days of Future Past hitting in 2014 and Fantastic Four hitting in 2015, could we see a new Wolverine by 2016? It is very possible.
I'm all for another Wolverine movie. I enjoyed The Wolverine and I am curious to see how they are going to move forward with the ending they gave us. Bring it!

First official X-Men: Days of Future Past image
Say hello to awkward, 70's versions of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), and Professor X (James McAvoy). This isn't anything special seeing that a majority of the effects aren't close to done, but at least it isn't a random Twitter pic from Bryan Singer.

The Wolverine - Review
The Wolverine follows Logan to Japan where he is summoned to meet a friend from the past. Little does he know the physical and personal conflicts that are ahead of him will show him not only what it is like to be mortal, but they shape who he is destined to be.
Going into The Wolverine I didn't really know what to expect. I knew it was a sequel to X-Men: The Last Stand and has Logan isolated after the X-Men disbanded and Jean Grey was killed. I also knew it took place in Japan. That was about it.
The film begins in WWII at the Nagasaki bombing where Logan is being held captive along with other American POW's by the Japanese. He saves the main villain, Yashida, from the blast and is later summoned by him to return to Japan when Yashida is an old, dying man. He tells Logan he wants to give him a gift of mortality and an ordinary death in exchange for the healing powers Logan possesses. That is the basic set up of this movie. As far as the plot goes I thought it was decent. Basically a man who was saved by a mutant became obsessed and wanted the power for himself. Pretty standard but solid. Everything else was just a bump in the road for Logan.
Acting wise I thought everyone did a pretty good job. Hugh Jackman, of course, did a great job as Wolverine. I don't think he will ever shake this role as long as he is able to do it. The only character I thought was a bit dumb was Viper, the poisonous mutant who was basically a biochemistry genius. Yashida uses Viper as a means to obtain Logan's healing powers and produce Adamantium.
I did like the flashbacks to Jean Grey, though. I thought they weren't overdone and they served a really nice purpose. It shows the struggle Logan has been dealing with.
There were things I didn't like, though. The main one was the ridiculous train sequence with the Yakuza trying to kill Yashida's granddaughter. I thought it was overdrawn and a bit ridiculous. Another was the whole Yakuza subplot in general. It gave Yashida's son, Shingen, a potential God complex in basically predicting everything that happened was going to happen before it even happened and placed precautionary measures years in advance. I really hate that in movies and it was very prevalent in The Wolverine with quite a few characters. The love plot between Logan and Mariko was forced, too, and Yukio's character and mutant abilities were severely underdeveloped.
Overall it was good despite the hiccups. Well, it was better than X-Men Origins. I wouldn't say this was a great movie but it did its job. Similar to the Hulk, I just think Wolverine is one of those characters that works best in an ensemble piece and not by himself. I have loved Wolverine in each of the X-Men films but when he's put out there by himself it just isn't the same.
There is one spoiler alert regarding an after credits scene, so click the jump to read on.

Hugh Jackman wants to bring Wolverine to The Avengers and Spider-Man
As you may or may not know, the studios aren't able to freely use characters as they please because certain studios own the rights to specific characters. Despite the fact that in the comic books The Avengers collaborate and appear next to Spider-Man and the X-Men, including them in the same movie is... well, it's complicated.
Hugh Jackman, who is probably most famous for his role as Wolverine, has stated that he would love to appear as Wolverine in The Avengers and/or a Spider-Man film and basically said the studios should suck it up and split the cost. As it currently stands Fox owns X-Men and Fantastic Four, Sony owns Spider-Man, and Marvel (aka, Disney) owns Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers, Hulk, etc.. When Collider asked what it would take to get all these heroes on the same film Jackman responded with:
I would love for this to happen but it isn't likely. The studios are greedy and they don't want to pay the money involved in bringing the heroes together. This shouldn't be the case, though. After seeing the villains announced for Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers 2 (specific villains that involve Fantastic Four and the X-Men), I think it could be possible for at least Fox and Marvel to partner up and share a few characters. Even if it isn't all of them. When you have Hugh Jackman on board it's something to at least be considered, I think.
You can see Jackman as Wolverine once again in The Wolverine which comes out on July 26th.

“Mate, I ask the same question. I literally asked the same question the other day to Tom from Marvel who works with all the other studios, he works with Sony and Fox, that’s his job to liaise. I said, ‘Man, can this happen?’ and he goes ‘Look, it’s not gonna be easy because you’re working with different studios and they’re their properties.’ But I believe—maybe I’m optimistic, I understand at Marvel they’ve got The Avengers, they’ve got a lot of big things going on, but at some point I just find it almost impossible that there’s not a way to bring Iron Man, all the Avengers characters, Wolverine, the X-Men characters, Spider-Man, and somehow get them in together.
I don’t see the impediment! I’m like, okay you’ve got three studios, just split it three ways in terms of the cost, and happy days it’s all coming together! I would love to… I’m in for it, I’m totally up for it because I think that would be really exciting for fans across the board.”

Anna Paquin joins X-Men: Days of Future Past; Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore also on board
Director Bryan Singer confirmed via Twitter some more casting news regarding X-Men: Days of Future Past. We already have Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellan, and Patrick Stewart returning for cameos, but we now have Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat), and Shawn Ashmore (Bobby Drake/Iceman) on board for the First Class sequel.
If you remember the previous X-Men movies, or the comics, Rogue and Bobby developed a relationship despite physical contact being a huge problem due to Rogue's mutation. The reason Pryde is returning is the simple fact that she has a pretty important part in the Days of Future Past storyline so it's kind of a given that she is returning.
Other returning cast members (so far) include Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult. X-Men: Days of Future Past is set for a July 18, 2014 release.

Les Misérables - Review
Les Misérables follows Jean Valjean after he is released from prison on parole in 19th century France. After breaking parole and disappearing he vows to care for a poor factory worker's daughter despite constantly hiding from the law and running to avoid his old fate at the hands of Inspector Javert.
I was excited to see Les Misérables because I knew the story and had seen a school version of the musical years ago when my sister was in high school. That and the cast intrigued me. I have to say that I don't think it was perfect and it wasn't as good as it could have been, but it was pretty damn good.
The pacing was a bit odd for me at first and it took me a while to fully get into the movie, but I think they rushed through the beginning a bit so they had more time to focus on the end. Given that the movie is like 2 and a half hours long they definitely needed to condense. It worked for the most part.
As far as the singing goes, I thought most of the cast was quote good. Hugh Jackman nailed it, Russell Crowe surprised me, and Eddie Redmayne was a pleasant surprise. I also thought Samantha Barks was really good. But, of course, the vocal cake must go to Anne Hathaway. I am not the biggest fan of Hathaway as an actress but she really killed it here in both singing and in acting. When she sang "I Dreamed a Dream" I was in tears by the end of the song. Very moving and she was by far the best singer in the whole cast. The worst for me was Amanda Seyfried. Something about her voice was just painful to listen to. I also want to point out that I really liked Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter. They were a perfect pair and they were the perfect actors for those characters.
I also find it funny that Adam Lambert went out there this week and trashed everyone in the cast for their vocals. If he had such a big problem why doesn't he go back to Broadway and stop acting a hot mess in the music scene. No one likes his music anyway. Either that or he should have tried to get a role himself.
Aside from that I liked the set design, the costumes, and the overall tone of the film. An important aspect of this story is desperation and I think Tom Hooper helped every actor truly bring that out and the emotion was very raw. I have no doubt Les Misérables has some awards coming its way and I hope a few of them are Oscars. It deserves them.

Hugh Jackman in talks for X-Men: Days of Future Past
We all knew this was coming.
Hugh Jackman is apparently in talks to reprise his role as Wolverine in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Jackman had a very short cameo as Wolverine in X-Men: First Class. He has also appeared as Wolverine in X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Not to mention he is close to wrapping the upcoming film The Wolverine which focuses on Wolverine's struggle with immortality. Needless to say... Hugh Jackman has pretty much made himself a staple in the X-Men cinematic universe.
If this does really happen he will join former co-stars Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen who were confirmed for X-Men: Days of Future Past earlier this week. If you are confused about how exactly this is possible seeing that this is technically the sequel to X-Men: First Class there is a logical explanation that Collider was nice enough to lay out:
So there you have it. Am I excited about potentially having Jackman back as Wolverine yet again? I guess. The good thing about this is that he is a great Wolverine. It's not like he is bad at the role so I guess this is something we just have to expect whenever a new X-Men movie comes out.

"The First Class sequel not only occurs before the events of the original X-Men trilogy, its source material also includes two alternate timelines, which makes it feasible for the casts of both series to appear in the same film. In Chris Claremont’s Days of Future Past arc, an alternate future saw surviving mutants held in concentration camps while giant robot Sentinels patrolled the land; most of the X-Men had been killed. It fell upon heroes of a prior timeline to stop a key event from happening that would lead to the alternate future. How the two versions of Professor X and Magneto are going to be used in the film remains to be seen."

Tom Cruise to play Van Helsing in yet another reboot
Let me rephrase that... yet another unnecessary, ridiculous reboot.
The movie Hugh Jackman was in is only 8 years old, ffs. Stupid. Absolutely stupid.
