Fox has hired Max Landis to write a sequel to Chronicle which was released this past February. Landis also wrote the first film.
I saw Chronicle (http://fort-kick-ass.blogspot.com/2012/02/review-chronicle.html) and while I had mixed feelings about it I was expecting a sequel to surface at some point. The way it ended was a dead giveaway, imo. I won't say I am necessarily jumping with excitement for a Chronicle 2, but I'll probably see it.

Venom spin-off in the works
Mind you this is very preliminary, but Columbia Pictures has tapped Chronicle director Josh Trank to direct a Spiderman spin-off featuring none other than Venom, aka Eddie Brock.
Now... I must say that Venom is one of my favorite comic book characters/villains of all time. Despite how much I would love to see this happen in some way I really don't want it to. There is practically no possible way to do a movie about Venom without Spiderman being present in some way.
With that said, maybe this is their way of saying that Venom will be the villain in the next Spiderman featuring Andrew Garfield? If there is another Spiderman with Garfield after The Amazing Spiderman, that is. We all know at this point the villain in The Amazing Spiderman is The Lizard, so maybe there will be a set up for Venom in a future film that will be centered more around the villain rather than Spiderman.
I know what you all are thinking; Spiderman 3 had Venom and it was terrible. Allow me to remind you that not only did Spiderman 3 suck in general but Eddie Brock was completely slaughtered in that movie. Venom shouldn't have even been included... I don't know. We'll just have to see how this plays out.

New laptop... ftw?
I got a call yesterday informing me that it was going to be $400 to fix my laptop.
I said "fuck it" and bought a new one for $100 more. So yeah, I'm back on here regularly... that is until I go on vacation next week. Disneyland, mother fuckers!

Fox cancels Terra Nova
This is why I don't watch a lot of TV. A majority of shows that air are canceled after a season or two. I learned my lesson after Pushing Daisies was canceled.

March 4th's The Walking Dead episode (Spoiler)
So I just need to get this out because I am so heartbroken about what happened tonight.
Why did Dale have to die? Honestly. I don't understand why.
He was probably the best character on the entire show and was a needed character. His struggle to keep the group together and to try and keep humanity alive was amazing to watch and tonight was when you truly felt it. And before it really developed he was taken away.
I don't even know what to feel. I am so upset. RIP Dale... I really wanted you in season 3.

Go see this movie. I have nothing else to say except that. Go see it.

AMC spoils the end of The Walking Dead... intentionally?
While advertising the Blu-Ray pre-order of The Walking Dead: Season 2 (to be released in August), AMC made an oops. A big oops. Since the photo got taken down, they basically put the end of season 2 in the synopsis for the pre-order.
SPOILER ALERT
"...Shane's last episode..."
SPOILER ALERT
Way to be, AMC. Way to be. Granted this is my least favorite character and I have wanted it since the finale of Season 1, but I don't appreciate the spoiler. I mean, fuck.

John Carter
Am I the only one that thinks this movie looks retarded? I first saw a trailer for it last summer, I believe, and I didn't think it looked interesting then. After seeing more of the commercials and more trailers I still have the same feelings.

Dark Shadows gets Vanity Fair photoshoot
And I still am confused about the fact that there still is no fucking trailer for this movie. Holy hell.

On the Road poster surfaces
I have been excited to see more about On the Road. It's already almost 2 years old and no one has even seen it yet. I loved the book so I am curious to see what they did with it and how.
There are rumors swirling around that the film is going to be shown at Cannes 2012 and it already has gotten a September release date for the UK. No word on a US release date and/or when we are getting a trailer. Hopefully it's soon.

RIP x2
Both Davy Jones of The Monkees and Conservative activist Andrew Breitbart passed this week. Both were kind of a surprise for everyone, I think.
RIP to the daydream believer.
RIP to the man who tried to open people's eyes.
