The writers of the later half of the Saw franchise have been hired to pen yet another adaptation of John Carpenter's Halloween. Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan have branched away from the Saw franchise since its end and now it seems they are returning to horror.
It is worth noting that this isn't technically another reboot or remake of Halloween, but it is being described as a "recalibration." There isn't really any telling what that means exactly, but I would assume it's going to be another attempt to distance the franchise from Rob Zombie's two Halloween films. This new Halloween project, appropriately titled Halloween 3D, has been in development for a while but nothing has moved forward yet. This is the first update we've had for several months.
Personally, I'm not a fan of Dunstan or Melton so this doesn't excite me at all.
