It seems that Lady Gaga's performance at the Oscars on Sunday was a precursor to much bigger things. Not only did she absolutely kill it, but she's nabbed her first leading role in the FX anthology series, American Horror Story... AHS: Hotel, to be specific.
Hotel is a bit of a surprise given the "Operation Top Hat" hints that were planted throughout Freak Show and the alien subplot in Asylum. However, Hotel does have some promise as it could bring the show back to its roots with a Murder House type theme where the events are related to the location. They very well could go a route similar to The Shining and it could work.
As far as Lady Gaga goes, I'm not too pro on her being in a lead role but she will definitely bring in viewers and for all we know she might not be that bad. She definitely is a performer and she has the creep factor down so we'll see how it unfolds.
