Skins alum and recent star of
The Maze Runner, Kaya Scodelario, has joined
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales as the main female lead. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer announced the casting of the British actress via Twitter. She joins returning cast member, Johnny Depp, and Pirates newcomers Javier Bardem and Brenton Thwaites.
Scodelario is fairly unknown to me as I didn't see
The Maze Runner and I didn't watch
Skins, but it will be interesting to see what she brings to the table and what exactly her role is. Pre-production is already moving along in Australia and Disney hopes to have this installment released in 2017.
