Elizabeth Pena passes away at 55

Actress Elizabeth Pena died today in Los Angeles after falling victim to an undisclosed, brief illness. Pena was 55 and is survived by a husband and two children.

You might recognize Pena most recently from her recurring role in Modern Family as Sophia Vergara's mother, Pilar. She also appeared in films such as Rush Hour, Jacob's Ladder, The Incredibles, and also had lent her voice to the Justice League animated series. She had recently wrapped filming of Matador, an El Rey Network original series.
