First images from Jurassic World

We still have a year of waiting to do for Jurassic World, but we have our first images of the film. They aren't revealing in any way and don't feature any dinosaurs,  but we get our first glimpse at the setting and some of the cast.

Jurassic World takes place 22-years after the events of the first film in a fully functioning park on Isla Nublar. It will apparently feature new dinosaurs genetically engineered by park scientists.

Jurassic World is set for theaters on June 12, 2015. It stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Judy Greer, Omar Sy, and Vincent D'Onofrio.

Michael Giacchino will score Jurassic World

We have heard scores from Michael Giacchino in movies like Star Trek, Mission: Impossible, Up, Lost, and The Incredibles and we will next hear him in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Giacchino has now been given the task to score Jurassic World.

Jurassic Park and the sequel, The Lost World, were scored by John Williams and the theme is probably one of the best recognized in the film industry. The third installment was scored by Don Davis and we will now have a third composer to tackle the franchise. Giacchino has been a longtime partner of J.J. Abrams but has scored just about everything. He even did compositions for the Jurassic Park: The Lost World video game back in the day so he isn't really a total stranger to this franchise.

I would have loved to have John Williams come back and do one more but you can't have it all. Jurassic World opens in theaters on June 12, 2015.

Chris Pratt rumored for Jurassic World

I guess being cast in a Marvel movie is a pretty good thing to happen to you. Chris Pratt is apparently being sought after for a lead role in Jurassic World. Pratt will be seen in Guardians of the Galaxy next year and can be seen this month in Delivery Man with Vince Vaughn. He is also a series regular on Parks and Recreation.

Previously Josh Brolin had entered talks for a lead role, but the project moved on without finalizing anything. The official cast members we have at the moment are Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, and Nick Robinson. Jurassic World opens June 12, 2015.

Nick Robinson in talks for Jurassic World

We just had a casting announcement for Ty Simpkins and previously one for Bryce Dallas Howard. We now have news that Nick Robinson (The Kings of Summer) is in talks for a role in Jurassic World. The 18-year old is apparently being sought after to play Simpkins' older brother. If you didn't see The Kings of Summer and are a television watcher, you might have seen him on Melissa & Joey as he is a regular cast member there.
In addition to Robinson, it appears that Jake Johnson (New Girl) is up for an unspecified role as well. I know this guy from No Strings Attached because I don't watch New Girl.

I have personally never seen Nick Robinson so I don't know what to expect from him, but apparently his role in The Kings of Summer was pretty good. I like that they aren't going for typical blockbuster actors, so we will see how this ensemble ends up.

Jurassic World, directed by Colin Trevorrow, is set to hit theaters on June 12, 2015.

Ty Simpkins lands lead role in Jurassic World

Ty Simpkins (Insidious) has landed a lead role for Jurassic World, the upcoming fourth installment to the Jurassic Park series. This makes it obvious that they will continue the dinosaurs terrorizing of the children.

In addition to the casting of Simpkins, it was announced a week or so ago that Bryce Dallas Howard had entered negotiations for a lead role as well.

Bryce Dallas Howard in talks for Jurassic World

Word on the internets is that Bryce Dallas Howard is in negotiations for a lead role in Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World (aka, Jurassic Park 4). Rumor has it Howard met with Universal alongside David Oyelowo (The Butler) when the release date was pushed from 2014 to June 12, 2015.
Howard has made a slight shift from acting to directing short films, but she has most recently been seen in The Help and 50/50. You also may recognize her from Terminator: Salvation and as Victoria in The Twilight Saga. She is also Ron Howard's daughter, but that isn't the important thing here.

There are currently no plot details for Jurassic World, but it evidently will return to Isla Nubar.

Jurassic Park 4 officially titled Jurassic World

We can start referring to the fourth installment of Jurassic Park as Jurassic World and, of course, it will be filmed and released in 3D.

We also have a release date of June 12, 2015. Yes, another 2015 release date for the summertime. Currently it is the only film scheduled for that weekend, but I'm sure that will change. Soon after Jurassic World we will have Assassin's Creed and Inside Out.
Jurassic World is set to enter production early next year and will have Colin Trevorrow in the director's chair.

Personally, I don't really like the title too much. It feels like what they would call a new land at Universal Studios. *shrug*

Jurassic Park 4 aiming for 2015 release

I guess the indefinite postponement Universal put on Jurassic Park 4 didn't stick too well. Word is out that they are aiming for a 2015 3D release for the film that will be directed by Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed). Steven Spielberg is on the case to meet with Trevorrow and the producers to read the script and go over some more details before the film officially enters production.

This was seen at the 2013 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas (via ComingSoon.net).

Jurassic Park 4 will share the 2015 release year with The Avengers 2, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, Star Wars Episode VII, Snow White and the Huntsman 2, Avatar 2, Prometheus 2, Fantastic Four, Assassin's Creed, Ant-Man, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, and Finding Dory. Those are just a few major movies scheduled for 2015.

Colin Trevorrow to direct Jurassic Park 4

Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) has been tapped to helm the upcoming film Jurassic Park 4. Trevorrow was previously in the running to direct Star Wars Episode VII, but the job eventually went to J.J. Abrams.

There is no release date set or anything, but the pre-production for Jurassic Park 4 has officially begun.
