Watch the credits for American Horror Story: Coven

Creepy and delightful.

American Horror Story: Coven airs on FX on Wednesday, October 9th.

Plot details for American Horror Story: Coven revealed

We also have a new teaser featuring pretty much the entire cast. Keep a close eye and see who you recognize!

“A young girl, Zoe, is shattered to discover she possesses a strange genetic affliction tracing back to the dark days of Salem. Zoe is whisked away to Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies, a mysterious school in New Orleans devoted to safeguarding the few remaining descendants who share this unique bloodline. Harboring a secret agenda, Fiona Goode, the most powerful witch of their generation, returns to town, reigniting old rivalries with the Coven’s deadly enemies, the Voodoo.”

American Horror Story: Coven gets a release date

The third installment of the FX drama series American Horror Story has an official release date of October 9th. The third season, appropriately titled Coven, focuses on witchcraft and takes place over a period of decades in New Orleans.

On deck to appear is Kathy Bates playing a serial killer named Madam LaLaurie. She kept slaves captive in her home in the 1800's. The cast also includes Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Alexandra Breckenridge, Patti LuPone, Sarah Paulson, Taissa Farmiga, Denis O'Hare, Frances Conroy, and Jessica Lange.

In addition to the release date, we also have some new teasers and the official plot outline. Already I am thinking this looks better than Asylum. I might have to watch Coven.

“Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona (Jessica Lange), the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way.“

First teaser for American Horror Story: Coven

I like the song a lot and the teaser is a bit unsettling. I'm still deciding whether I want to watch this season.

Denis O'Hare returning to American Horror Story

Denis O'Hare, who played the burn victim Larry Harvey in season one, is returning for American Horror Story: Coven. The show's third season is centered around witchcraft and also stars Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts, and Angela Bassett.

O'Hare has been in numerous things, both TV and film, and is an absolutely fantastic actor. He most recently portrayed the relentless vampire king Russell Edgington in HBO's True Blood. His character in season one of American Horror Story was quite weird, too. I'm interested to see what character he will have this time around.
