Trick 'r Treat has built up a cult fanbase ever since it first screened back in 2007. The Michael Dougherty film, featured by Bryan Singer, has been screened at numerous horror festivals and conventions including Fangoria, Fantasia Film Festival, and Fantastic Fest. The film got a limited release in 2009 and even after all this time the fanbase has managed to pretty much keep the film along with its twists a secret.
We now have had an announcement brought via a fan screening of the film that there is a sequel in the works. There are no details beyond the initial announcement, but this is very good news not only for Trick 'r Treat fans but for the horror genre. You can watch the Q&A announcement here.
For those of you who have never seen Trick 'r Treat, it is basically a loosely tied together horror anthology that all have a dark twist to them. I personally love Trick 'r Treat and it still makes me a bit disappointed that more people haven't seen it. I am definitely excited and looking forward to this sequel.
And as a little bonus, here is a Sam cosplay I saw at a horror convention in Dallas in 2011.
Movie news, movie reviews, and basically whatever else I want to talk about. Come on in and join the party.
